What

Everything you can do at Project Solitude.

Project Solitude

Find your feeling.

Slow living in the heart of the city, and deep in a verdant villagescape.

Project Solitude is an eclectic community space encompassing a breathing ecosystem that bridges quiet spaces, tactile craft, and genuine human connection.

Two distinct worlds come alive here. A sunlit urban retreat in charming South Kolkata and a tranquil homestead in Chauddhachuli, a sliver of quintessential rural Bengal.

We open our doors for quiet stays, intimate story circles, seasonal culinary heritage, and unhurried adda.

Solitude Spaces

Stay.

Two sanctuaries for inner exploration. Three rooms in the city, and an ancestral farmhouse.

Memories

Dig into a memory. With our remembrance facilitator.

At the Smritis Memory Studio, we excavate and honour what usually fades. Through guided conversations and gentle reflection, personal stories are quietly transformed into tangible keepsakes: digital engrams, bottled narratives, and physical curios. No algorithms, no AI. We simply hold space.

Heritage Food

Shaped by hand, savoured together.

In Chauddhachuli, food is a ritual, not a routine. Learn the intricate artistry of piping Gohona Bori, and gather around communal tables for meals with vegetables from our kitchen garden, fish from a century-old pond and the freshest of village produce.

Stories

Whispered truths and personal stories. To a mindful room that listens.

From cosy story slams and poetry readings to wellness workshops and unstructured exchanges in the spirit of adda, our spaces bring together curious minds seeking depth over noise.

Why

The thinking behind Project Solitude, and the books on our shelf.

Our Ethos

The art of slowing down, in a fast world.

Positioned right between a city that’s legendary for its long, winding addas and a rural landscape that embraces stillness, we help cultivate a new lifestyle for seekers. Here, we restore the forgotten luxury of unhurried hours: making by hand, remembering what matters, listening deeply, and simply doing nothing at all.
